Life is rarely easy, even if we look like we’re coping. It’s hard to trust our gut, to say no, and to know what we want from life, others and ourselves. There is so much pressure to do and be a particular type of person – the perfect mother, daughter, wife and partner – that it’s easy to lose who we really are in the process. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up and it can feel like an uphill battle just to stay still. We are often unheard and unseen by the people around us, who have a narrative or image of us that bears no resemblance to what we see in the mirror or know in our hearts. Therapy can help you cut through the noise and help you get in touch with who you really are, what you really want and why, so you can start living the best life for you.
I have extensive experience working with trauma, particularly around sexual and domestic violence, including coercive control and adverse childhood experiences of adult survivors. If this is your experience, this space is here for you with no expectations of what you should do, how you should be or what we should talk about. This is your space to do with what you want.
Getting started with therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I aim to make the process straightforward and transparent. I offer trauma-informed, person-centred psychotherapy for adults, with a particular focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse, coercive control and post-separation abuse. I also work with anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship patterns and life transitions
Free 30-minute intro call
Choosing a therapist is personal. The free 30-minute call is a chance to:
- get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit
- There’s no pressure to commit. If we decide to work together, we’ll agree a regular time and begin at your pace.
- briefly share what’s bringing you to therapy now
- ask questions about how I work
- check practicalities (online/in-person, availability, fees)
Practicalities

- Saturday mornings: online
If you have specific scheduling needs, mention them when you get in touch and I’ll let you know what’s possible.
Location
In-person therapy in the Forth Valley
- I’m based in the Forth Valley area in the Campsie Fells, around 30 minutes from Stirling, about 25 minutes from Loch Lomond, and roughly an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow (traffic dependent). If you’re looking for therapy near Stirling or the wider Forth Valley, in-person sessions may be a good fit.
Online therapy (UK-wide)
- I also offer online therapy across the UK via video or phone. Online sessions can be a good option if you live rurally, travel often, have caring responsibilities, or would prefer the privacy and convenience of meeting from home.
Fees
- £80 per 50-minute session (same fee for online or in-person).
- I offer a free 30-minute phone/video call so you can ask questions and see whether it feels like a good fit.
Payment, cancellations & rescheduling
- Payment is due 48 hours in advance for your session to go ahead.
- If you need to cancel, please give at least 48 hours’ notice.
- If you need to move a session, and you let me know with 24 hours’ notice, I will try to offer an alternative slot in the same week (subject to availability).
Life happens. If something unexpected comes up, tell me as soon as you can and we’ll do our best to find a workable next step.
Important Questions & Answers
Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is a core part of therapy. There are some limits (for example, where there is serious risk of harm). We’ll talk through confidentiality clearly at the start.
Do I have to talk about everything straight away?
No. We work at your pace. There is no pressure to tell the full story before you’re ready.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies. Some people want short-term focused work; others prefer open-ended therapy. We can review this together as we go.
Do you work with domestic abuse and coercive control?
Yes. I have specialist experience in domestic abuse and coercive control, including post-separation abuse, and I work in a trauma-informed way.
What if I’m unsure whether what happened “counts” as abuse?
That uncertainty is common. Therapy can help you make sense of what happened, name it (or not), and decide what you want next.
What’s the difference between online and in-person therapy?
Both can be effective. The best choice depends on your preferences, privacy, and what feels safest and most practical for you.
